The day I became Mrs. Aquino

1July 25, 2014 was a memorable day for me, not only did I turn 29, I also tied the knot to the man whom I promise to love each day. Who would have known I would settle down this year? That was out of my plan though I joke about it at times. Truly, God created this miracle and I will always be a believer. I met Xave late last year, last week of December 2013 to be exact when I was helping out a friend for their wedding. Well, I actually met Xave a few years back but I just can’t remember it even if he recalls the story of him offering me a burger and I declined. Haha! Was I that snob? All I can remember was that I was so busy with the photoshoot. Anyway, our relationship was quite different from the rest I guess, we didn’t have that cheesy and long courtship type. Not even flowers and chocolates and endless movie dates. All we felt was that time was on our side and you know that feeling when they say “Once you find true love, that’s it and there’s no turning back” and yeah, this was IT for both of us.

Enough of the intro, I am excited to share with you all the photos during our civil wedding.

A few weeks before the wedding, I started preppin’ up for the big day. I asked friends for empty wine bottles since I have been wanting to create our own table centerpiece. Luckily, I was able to collect around 20 bottles (as you can see from above). My friends and sisters also assisted me in making colorful paper pompoms that will be used as the main decor. Thanks to Youtube and Pinterest for the easy to follow DIY’s.

3 Of course, Pinoy food will always be my choice. Super thanks to everyone who assisted my Mom and Tita Tek in preparing and cooking all these viands. We were so full and everyone enjoyed the Hamonado, Pancit, Menudo, Imbotido, Lumpiang Bangus, Chicken, Mixed Veggies and Lechon!4No cupcakes this time but this tasted better, believe me!!! Who can go wrong with Puto Flans? Thanks Tita Tek for the gift, I enjoyed it so much I finished two. Photo quotes are all from Pinterest, yep my fave app after Instagram.
5 The serious yet happiest civil wedding I have ever attended (not being biased here since this is my own wedding, but I think the feeling is similar to a Church wedding). I was crying and laughing the whole time, I cannot control my emotions, grateful isn’t enough, it was more than that. Thank you to our parents, Mommy Lily, Daddy Lebong and Mommy Mila for being there the whole time. Big love to our witnesses Tito Al, Tita Malyn, Tita Edith and Jhoanne.6 (1)Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

6 I got great girlfriends who literally laugh and cry with me (even photo’s can’t hide it). To our witnesses and parents who all gave a heartwarming message, thank you. Though I noticed that most of them said “Go and have babies”, lol!7 We were so happy we couldn’t even speak, I should have written down a poem instead 🙂8“The KISS that would last a lifetime.”9 There’s no turning back, we both signed it! Officially Mr. & Mrs. Aquino.10 From L-R Gonzal, Dad, Mom, Jhoanne, Tita Malyn, Tito Al, Tita Edith, Mommy Mila and us.11Yep, the biggest family of them all.
12 Xave’s Mom, Jhoanne, Tita Edith and us.13 We enjoyed our cake, until the day after the wedding. Tastes real good with coffee 😉14 Thank you thank you thank you to all who came, sorry I was not able to invite all our friends. Tito Oyet and Tita Ting, thanks for the booze! Do not worry, we still have a Church wedding planned 2-3 years from now. We will ensure that all the important people of our lives will be able to witness us exchange vows before the altar.15 To my niece who also celebrated her birthday last July 23, 2014, a very happy birthday Caitlyn. May you receive more blessings from our Lord above. We love you!16A quick question to my girls… “Who’s next?”.
17The biggest smile ever, happily married.

Love, Joycelyn Aralar Aquino

To the woman who taught me about real love

God truly knows our entire being. He knew beforehand who are we gonna need to be with in this lifetime. I’ve said in my previous posts that Life won’t be easy in general. That’s why I am so thankful and blessed to have my Mom beside me all these years.

My mind as you see, is always seeking for adventure and new learnings. Though at times I turn out to make the wrong decisions, she never failed to speak her heart out and tell me things. Things that were true, yeah at times they hurt big time. Some I even consider to be of no value then later gives me the wisdom I need in my daily life.

Mom thank you for never giving up on us, your family. I know that keeping a family so big like ours is one of the greatest challenges. You have been with us through thick and thin and still manage to take us to places we’ve never seen before. Personally, thank you for your words, forgive me for being such a stubborn lady at times, haha! You know those moments!

May the Lord continue to give you great health in the coming years for you will need it. May Mother Mary guide you in every step of the way though there are times the road may seem dark.

You inspire US, the people around you to live better and believe in ourselves. God knows how thankful we are for having you as our Mother. We love and cherish you, Happy Birthday.

Wrapping up July!!!

Tomorrow is the last day of July! Whew! The long wait was over, I am now officially a young lady/adult. Wohooo! Cheers to being 28! Thank you so much for my wonderful birthday greetings! Now it’s time to start another birth year! Thank you Lord for all the never-ending blessings, family and friends!

28 in a few

turning 28

Hallo everyone!

In a few minutes another year will be added to my existence. Hmmm! So maybe this is it, I can say that L-I-F-E starts at 28 (at least that’s for me, most of the time I hear/read it’s at 30). I need to give a few updates about my “Joyful plans for my 28th Birthday”.

Plan 1) It saddens me that I won’t be able to do this since the “Donate Your Hair Org” updated their site and noted that hair donations should be 12 inches or longer. 😦 Unfortunately, I would be close to a boy’s cut if I do that.

Plan 2 and 3) Done already! Yipee!

Thank you Jona for this lovely quote

And now! It’s time to give endless thanks to everyone who has been a great part of my life for the past 28 years.

1) My ever loving family members – I know it’s hard to be with a daughter/sister who’s always chatting about everything and makes “kulit” to everyone in the house. Forgive me if I always sleep when I have the chance to and for the non-stop drinking of iced tea.

2) My relatives on both sides, mother and father. You were all great and being close to almost each one of you makes me real happy.

3) To the friends of my mother and father. Thank you for treating us like your children and for helping my parents reach their goal in continuously reaching to other people in all the good ways you know.

4) For my Nueve D Barkada, you are the greatest sisters I have in life and you all know me from my hair tips to my toes.

5) My CJPLC, Assumption Antipolo, BCC and OLGC friends and batchmates, I have never ending memories of you. Most of them all funny and really unforgettable.

6) My ICT and Chase Friends, oh you have filled my life with happy working days! Thank you thank you thank you!

7) My WordPress family, endless thank you for visiting my site. Every click goes to my heart 🙂

I’m turning 28 and I still don’t care

2143468Now my blog title may seem rude. It’s 3:13 AM and my eyelids are light as a feather. Please sleep, where are you when I needed you the most? Hmm… he’s gone and visited another soul in need of rest. (I guess?)

So back to my drama… I am having some birthday blues this early. But yeah, I learned that the greatest advice I can give to someone is to “not care at all”. Not care in a sense of not caring what the world will say about the things that you do. We will all learn from our experiences and honestly there are moments I feel I don’t really have a say when friends or loved ones ask me for an advice. It’s different when you are the one inside the box and the one standing outside the box.

I have always felt so carefree when I do not care or give a damn about what others will say. I SING, SCREAM, DANCE and JUMP, whenever and wherever I like. They may label me as crazy but I have freedom in my hands and if this is the way for me to really have a taste of it, then I let it be. Same goes with you! 99% of the people around us would not really care, so why worry? Worrying is such a killer! As Nike said, “JUST DO IT” and I have to add, STICK to it.

Be a happy pill like me! ♥

Wish you were here Bob

“Man is a universe within himself” as you said. Thank you thank you Bob for being a positive influence in my life. Haven’t had the chance to smoke weed and I promise to only try it if I get to meet you in another lifetime (haha!). They said you write music under a big tree in Jaimaca, well, if that’s true, please let me watch you closely. I would also like to touch your dreadlocks, maybe it will feel rough but I care less. May the world continue to live with your words “one love”.

Happy birthday to you and all the rasta’s in the world.

Mom, your 50 and still sexy!

My dearest mom turned 50 yesterday, so I figured out, I will confess about ‘some things’.

Mom if ever you read this, do not be mad, haha! You know I love you and always will.

1. One of my favorite past time when I was a kid was to sit down at your big mirror with 6 cabinets full of make up. Yes, I tried all your lipsticks and accessories. Though I do not wear make up everyday, I got lots. Thank you, now I am so vain but my friends love it.

2. I also love to wear your stilettos and walk around the house when you are gone. Not sure if you noticed it, but I guess not, because I make sure I return them properly and exactly where you left it. Thank you, for I have always been labeled as an OC girl.

3. The stockings that you have at home were always missing because when I try them on and take them off, they are all curled. So I immediately place them in the laundry afterwards. Thank you, for I have not loved stocking since then. Haha!

4. The day we fought over my ‘prom dress’ was one of the worst moments in my life. I ended up sleeping in all these shells that I have collected from our beach adventures and I took a lot of Vitamin C. I waited for something to happen and wondered why I was still okay until college days came and I learned that Vitamin C is a water based soluble one. Meaning, it will not cause death! (OMG, I can’t believe why am I spilling these secrets.) Thank you, for I am still alive.

5. Lastly, up to now, I am not 100% sure why you wanted me to become a nurse when in fact you know I love to take up Hotel Restaurant Management. I am sure you have your own reasons and Mother’s Knows Best all the time. Thank you, for making sure I am well-educated… maybe soon I will be able to use my nursing license. 🙂

Please please please! Forgive me for the everyday dramas. You knew I have always wanted to be an artist on stage and on TV. I love you always and you are the greatest mom ever. Do not worry about your weight, for you are SEXY as ever. Again, Happy Birthday! ♥
