Cheers to the night when I can’t sleep and you were available. You seem to know how to communicate to me in a quiet way like no one can do. To the realizations of 2013 and that life will never be the same each passing day. I sip the night away and you were okay with that. Not like the others who wanted and expected more from me. It’s okay to be melancholic around you, or happy, or crazy, or naked. You didn’t care and accepted me for who I am. My sweet cup of coffee… stay with me. Looking forward to more nights and realizations in between. Keep your silence, for my world crumbles up with thoughts that I can’t seem to control at times. I promise to keep this type of relationship with you. 🙂
I can’t imagine life without coffee but I can’t imagine life without the people whom I have had coffee moments with. As far as I remember I have never been addicted to Starbucks and it’s ambiance ever since the day my sister became one of their barista. Sitting in a corner at Starbucks Make Room Glorietta while sipping my favorite Mocha Frap (years ago) and people watching was unforgettable.
The connections I have and had with coffee and people deepened as time went by.
College was impossible without coffee. Starbucks Shang and Megamall were the stores I used to visit stores back then. It was one of those moments I treasured the most. Just hanging around with the coolest people, laughing, studying, working on projects… Oh! Those memories were really for keeps. And I passed the nursing board exams just by reviewing at Starbucks Silver City. 😉
Working without Starbucks in hand would be another impossible thing to do. Glad I was able to spend more time with my workmates and know more about them every time we spend hours on coffee dates. Often Starbucks Metro walk kept me company until we moved to the fort area and I met Starbucks Shell and Starbucks Crescent.
Family momentos as you see would be incomplete without coffee too. The only downside was, I got a huge family and usually a minimum of 3 drinks would be charged under my name. But every drink is priceless once shared, and my love for family will always win no matter what. Just seeing them emerged in drinking and laughing makes my world stop and I record every second of it. Makes me glad 🙂 Thanks to Starbucks the Fort Drive Thru and Starbucks SM Taytay.
For moments when I would like to get away from it all, Starbucks Tagaytay would keep me company. Whether the weather was so bad and it’s zero visibility, the comfort I was looking for would be found in this haven.
Lastly, writing poetry without my Iced Cafe Mocha with mint syrup would be impossible. That long wooden table at Crescent store is my current third place. I spent numerous countless self-dates there. Most of the time writing and doodling things out of my brain. Those were the important minutes of life, at times talking to strangers or swimming under my own notions.
You see, it’s not just about a cup of coffee. It about the coffee plus the people we drink coffee with.
To all my family and friends whom I have had coffee dates with, thank you for letting me enter your lives. These words were never enough to explain how I learned from all of you. Hoping in some way, you felt the same too.
Lets share more moments.
Spent my Monday wisely and started it out crazy 🙂 This is my younger sister and I having fun after drinking our coffee (she even sneaked a few sips on mine! Hmpppp sissy, madaya ka, bhelat).
Then it’s time for another coffee with one of the prettiest girls alive, Kai. From the first time she shouted my name, I knew fun has started.
Greenhills shopping will always be one of the best places to hang out with a shopaholic friend like me. Lol! This photo was taken while we were shoe shopping.
Cherry blossoms are in bloom in Manila! They are soooo cute! (Errr, the fake ones)
After two hours of non stop walking, it’s time to eat out! Super sorry if we almost left without paying. One of the most embarassing moment in our entire laugh but hey, we remembered and walked back inside. Oh bloopers!!! My stomach ached from too much laughing!
Coffee for the third time? Why not? Apparently, Lyza our dear friend who just came back from Singapore saw my IG post and immediately followed! How fun is that? These two girls are the other superwomen that I know. It’s nice to surround yourself with such good strong souls! We talked about life, love, heartaches, guys, shopping and how to get better each day! We wrapped it up by watching ‘Beautiful Creatures’, love the movie and the collection of poetry that Leila owns. ^^
To my sister, Kai and Lyza, thanks for completing my Monday 🙂
Tuesday, another day to start of the work week. Thank you for the additional day off, happy MLK day to all those living in the U.S.
I started the weekend, Saturday with a bang! After work, my friends and I visited the National Museum, Intramuros, and had late lunch at the famous Ilustrados Restaurant. Nightime came, I still was not able to rest. My highschool batchmates came to our house for our alumni anniversary. Needless to say, when they left past midnight, I was in bed after cleaning up.
Sunday, I spent half of the day sleeping and the rest of the day watching movies with my sister Krissy. We finished 4 movies: Nowhere Boy (which I found very interesting since I love The Beatles), Green Lantern, Moonrise Kingdom (adored the characters), and Django (unfortunately, I fell asleep because it was too long).
Monday came and I was excited!!! Dad brought us to our new “kubo” in the middle of Laguna Lake. We had so much fun and being the eldest, I had to cook. Good thing there is google and “magic sinigang mix”. If not, I can’t imagine how and what will my sinigang version look and taste for that matter. Lol! We also had fried porkchop, stuffed milkfish and watermelon. Happy tummy!!! After lunch everyone was sleepy so we all took a nap while the wind was blowing hard. *mental note* bring a comforter next time 🙂
Tuesday!!! Tada!!! I made a decision to let go my huge earrings collection. “Twinkle the star”, my online dream shop was born. Can’t believe that after so many debates I had with myself, I finally did it! I’m letting them go and though tears swell from my eyes, this is for the best. I just know it, mom was right… I can’t wear them all together.
1. I can be a homebuddy 🙂
2. Material things are really not that important.
3. Family comes first.
4. I should drink more water than coffee.
5. Cold weather makes me 20% more emotional than normal.
6. I should sleep more and read more.
7. I should really sleep or drag myself to sleep even if I don’t want to, like what’s happening now.
Hope you had a great one dear friends 🙂
At 5 am my alarm went off, since I slept with my swimsuit on, I was ready in a few minutes with hopes of catching the sunrise. Sad to say, it was raining and I ended up having 2 cups of coffee. Morning talks were good, Hilda and Gen were early birds too, it was a big plus because our background music were songs of “The Creed”. I still wished I was able to watch them live but that’s okay. We talked about certain things, from real life experiences up to some old boring stuff. While waiting for the others to wake up, we decided to tour the area and my oh my, we found this wonderful cave! Too bad I still don’t have the photos with me, still need to grab them.
Who can resist right?
Nipa huts and reflections
Gen had been before which was a great advantage because we don’t need any tourist guide anymore. She knows where to bring us and what to show us. This was one of the highlight of the trip, visiting old churches.
Back in our hotel room, my feet trembling due to excessive swimming and walking. I need to put my legs up. If I can only sleep this way, I could have done that.
