Finally after such a long time of waiting and from the first time I blogged the trailer of Les Miserables, tonight I braved to do one thing I have been wanting to do since the last time I did it. I watched a movie alone for the first time in after oh so many years (clap, clap, clap). My last solo movie encouter was not that good so I better not talk about it.
Like book reviews I am no good for the movies also. So let me just share my thoughts about it. First, kudos to the whole cast of the movie. For me they all fit perfectly for their roles. They deserve all the nominations they got from the Golden Globe Awards and I am sure there will be more this coming Oscars. I guess I don’t need to mention how Hugh, Anne and Amanda never fails to deliver their character well. But my favorite part was of course Samantha Barks version of “on my own”. Very simple yet touching, plus add the rain effect. 🙂
Being the crybaby that I am, I cried at 5 scenes. First was when Jean Valjean got Cosette and he sung “suddenly”. Second at the hospital scene where Fantine died. Third where Eponine died and Marius was singing to him. Fourth when Marius was singing after all his friends died and lastly, when Jean Valjean said goodbye to Cosette and Marius. My tears wont stop as usual so when the movie ended, my head starts to throb again. This time I am not pissed off though I can’t walk straight. I can’t blame myself for crying, haha.
Two quotes that I somehow remember but not sure if it’s right since I can’t write and I am too absorbed in the movie.
“If I could close your wounds with words of love“ – Marius to Eponine
“There’s a grief that can’t be spoken. There’s a pain that goes and goes.” – Marius
That would be it. 🙂 Watch the movie and enjoy yourself. For all those musical fanatics, make sure you don’t miss it.
They loved me, I loved them back. 2012, You have been great and I won’t ever forget you, I know 2013 will be happier and more inspiring than ever.
At exactly 10 hours from now, 2012 will officially close. I just want to thank God for the blessings. Countless, countless, countless… from family, friends, relatives, love lost, love found and all in between. My heart is full of joy as I leave all my worries behind. I have gained enough wisdom to move on and enjoy my 28th year here on earth. Again to all the people around me who said I am inspiring as ever, I am delighted! Really, I feel like I am a star now. Do not worry, will make sure to inspire people and help in every possible way I can. The adrenaline rush of joy will stay with me each day. Life has never been this great and I have never been more positive. To all those who were there for me during my ‘downward emotional’ state, I appreciate it. Now, I am so much better. Self forgiven and self driven.
I ♥ you all. I mean it!
Lucky me! Yes I am! Imagine I was able to get to watch two great plays before they end. First was “The Sound of Music” at Newport Theater Resorts World Manila and then second was “Forbidden Broadway” at RCBC Plaza Makati.
Ever since I was young, I have been in love with “Live Plays”. Maybe it was due to fact that I want to be a Super Star on stage, I want to be an actress but my sister said that my acting skills were not that convincing. So to make it short, I just acted in my room! Poor me! Anyway, let us go back to the main topic. The first play “The Sound of Music” was captivating. The cast, the props, the music and everything was so GREAT! Truly it was a play that I am so proud of, it should be shared to the whole world. Talk about talent in acting and dancing? I’m giving them a HIGH FIVE! My favorite part of the play was when Maria taught the kids how to sing… the Do Re Mi part.
Next play in line was “Forbidden Broadway” that gave me chills in every act! The cast was to die for! They portrayed all their roles to the maximum level. Totally hooked with “On my Phone” and “Seasons of Hype” Act! When the curtains opened ’til the time they closed, everyone was laughing hard. They all deserve a HIGH FIVE too! Watch them here: Forbidden Broadway – Cast Interview – Upstart Productions do not forget to visit Upstart Productions for more shows and follow them on twitter.
Too bad, both plays ended today, and I am so GLAD I watched them! Keeping my fingers crossed for a rerun of these two shows! Here are my pictures!
