The day I became Mrs. Aquino

1July 25, 2014 was a memorable day for me, not only did I turn 29, I also tied the knot to the man whom I promise to love each day. Who would have known I would settle down this year? That was out of my plan though I joke about it at times. Truly, God created this miracle and I will always be a believer. I met Xave late last year, last week of December 2013 to be exact when I was helping out a friend for their wedding. Well, I actually met Xave a few years back but I just can’t remember it even if he recalls the story of him offering me a burger and I declined. Haha! Was I that snob? All I can remember was that I was so busy with the photoshoot. Anyway, our relationship was quite different from the rest I guess, we didn’t have that cheesy and long courtship type. Not even flowers and chocolates and endless movie dates. All we felt was that time was on our side and you know that feeling when they say “Once you find true love, that’s it and there’s no turning back” and yeah, this was IT for both of us.

Enough of the intro, I am excited to share with you all the photos during our civil wedding.

A few weeks before the wedding, I started preppin’ up for the big day. I asked friends for empty wine bottles since I have been wanting to create our own table centerpiece. Luckily, I was able to collect around 20 bottles (as you can see from above). My friends and sisters also assisted me in making colorful paper pompoms that will be used as the main decor. Thanks to Youtube and Pinterest for the easy to follow DIY’s.

3 Of course, Pinoy food will always be my choice. Super thanks to everyone who assisted my Mom and Tita Tek in preparing and cooking all these viands. We were so full and everyone enjoyed the Hamonado, Pancit, Menudo, Imbotido, Lumpiang Bangus, Chicken, Mixed Veggies and Lechon!4No cupcakes this time but this tasted better, believe me!!! Who can go wrong with Puto Flans? Thanks Tita Tek for the gift, I enjoyed it so much I finished two. Photo quotes are all from Pinterest, yep my fave app after Instagram.
5 The serious yet happiest civil wedding I have ever attended (not being biased here since this is my own wedding, but I think the feeling is similar to a Church wedding). I was crying and laughing the whole time, I cannot control my emotions, grateful isn’t enough, it was more than that. Thank you to our parents, Mommy Lily, Daddy Lebong and Mommy Mila for being there the whole time. Big love to our witnesses Tito Al, Tita Malyn, Tita Edith and Jhoanne.6 (1)Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

6 I got great girlfriends who literally laugh and cry with me (even photo’s can’t hide it). To our witnesses and parents who all gave a heartwarming message, thank you. Though I noticed that most of them said “Go and have babies”, lol!7 We were so happy we couldn’t even speak, I should have written down a poem instead 🙂8“The KISS that would last a lifetime.”9 There’s no turning back, we both signed it! Officially Mr. & Mrs. Aquino.10 From L-R Gonzal, Dad, Mom, Jhoanne, Tita Malyn, Tito Al, Tita Edith, Mommy Mila and us.11Yep, the biggest family of them all.
12 Xave’s Mom, Jhoanne, Tita Edith and us.13 We enjoyed our cake, until the day after the wedding. Tastes real good with coffee 😉14 Thank you thank you thank you to all who came, sorry I was not able to invite all our friends. Tito Oyet and Tita Ting, thanks for the booze! Do not worry, we still have a Church wedding planned 2-3 years from now. We will ensure that all the important people of our lives will be able to witness us exchange vows before the altar.15 To my niece who also celebrated her birthday last July 23, 2014, a very happy birthday Caitlyn. May you receive more blessings from our Lord above. We love you!16A quick question to my girls… “Who’s next?”.
17The biggest smile ever, happily married.

Love, Joycelyn Aralar Aquino

Weekly Photo Challenge: Treasure

newly weds

The day they said “I DO”

Yesterday was a very lovely day, specially for the newly weds. Jeremy and Karen, thank you for picking me as one of your bridesmaid. Preparing for your wedding was a memorable one not only for me but for your families and friends. Always treasure the day you said “I DO” to each other, I know that you are gonna have a great life ahead. Love you both!

Em is now a lady!

When a girl turns 18th, she’s on her way to becoming a full-grown young lady. Last week, we were able to witness Em’s transformation. Her brother NJ also celebrated his birthday, weeee! Talk about double events! I can’t help but think how old I am, before Em used to be so young and most of the time, my sisters will play with her and her siblings Hershey and MJ. They said they don’t want to approach me because I might talk to them in English! Errr… did I talk too much English back then? You guys are funny!

The cute cute cakes for EM and NJ! Happy birthday to you ♫

Sweets for my sweet tooth, sugar for my honey!

Those yellow flowers! 🙂

The stage, looks like she’s having a concert, haha!

Waiting for the party to start, can I just say the place was so lovely? The motif suits Em.

My NueveD waited for me to upload this photo over twitter, “Girls, I so love this birthday gift of yours, it fits me well, feeling so fly like a G6, haha!”

Everything happens in the comfort room, make up retouch, wacky poses, sisterhood bonding.

Yep, got burned, first aid? Running water for 10 minutes and I also got to meet this awesome twins! They sing very well!

Sweets always!

The Contreras Family ♥ Em wore her first gown for the night, light pink and lady like.

This purple peacock inspired dress WOWED me, envious because I am thinking of having a peacock wedding dress, lol.

I was part of the 18 candles, I have this speech in mind but I didn’t expect the program would be so different. Not so old school, more like playing a game and the three of us above ended up modeling.

Sisters Rose and Kriss danced the night away, haha!

I shared before that I have a thing with lights and ceilings. Look at this closely, they are made of water bottles! Oh crafts! LOVE IT! They look so beautiful above but I think I was the only one who noticed them? 😦

Mom gave her birthday wishes 🙂

Of course, 18 roses and Dad’s will always be the first dance.

Em wore her last gown for the night, chic and classy! ***She’s thanking all the people who attended her concert, lol!***

How can I forget to introduce the wonderful and energetic emcee? Please meet Mr. Bobby Galang. He made all the gowns and suits worn by Contreras Family. (He is trusted, he makes fabulous gowns, all types! He organized my brother’s wedding).

The event place, please visit their Facebook Page if your interested : Sweet Harmony Gardens

Souvenirs? Perfumes! Choose your own scent!

It’s tiring to walk in heels all night, but I can’t help to pose near christmas trees, big lanterns and the LOVE word 🙂

Bonding moments with friends and sisters at the party.

***There are times when you can’t find me anywhere… first thing to check, the photobooth! I guarantee you, you’ll see me there***

Thank you Treasured Memories ♥

Em, though we were part of the 18 candles, we were not able to deliver our messages, so we decided to make a short video! We enjoyed the party! Thank you for inviting The Aralars!

Not My Love Story

Tomorrow will be a big day! Guess what, after almost 4 years, my brother and her wife will be married inside the Church. Though we started months ago preparing for tomorrow’s event, we are still cramming for small details that needed attention up to today. Earlier, I was given a task, I thought it was really easy since I just need to write a short love story about my brother and sister in law. Now, I find myself staring at a large piece of paper with some notes on it. I do not know where to start, so now I am here, sharing my experience with you. Maybe the reason why I am having such a hard time is because it is not my love story at all. I mean, if I am the one in love, for sure, words will be  overflowing.

Time is running and I NEED to finish this up. All I need is an inspiration… and guess what I found, a perfect picture of the groom and bride, looking so HAPPY and IN LOVE! Now, I can write their love story. Congratulations for tomorrow! I bet it will be a success!
